Pepe is completely right. You can't destroy a millenary culture with bombs. How long has America existed as we know it under "European" rule? More or less 250 years. Compare this to the high cultures of China, Egypt, Yemen, Persia (today Iran) and all the other cradles of civilization in Mesopotamia. The count cannot be compared. Not even with Europe or the Roman Empire. How arrogant and ignorant must one be not to understand this? All those Nations composing the Far East and the Middle East have always been teachers for us. If we know anything about metallurgy, sciences in general, including medical and surgical, literary art, poetry and religion and advanced technology, we can always bounce back to square one. They taught us about the first forms of philosophy and diplomacy as well. How dare we to substitute ourselves to them and play teacher to people who could still teach us a lot about decency, honesty, respect and in general, also morality and ethics? This is upside down learning. Like a stupid and ignorant pupil trying to force a completely awkward and misguided subject unto a wise old teacher. Simply incredible and this indeed shows our megalomania based on thin air, without wisdom, without factual historic knowledge, nor social understanding of how these Countries have always functioned since the dawn of time. If only we took some appropriate time to finally understand them for who they are and what they represent in history, we would also understand why they are as they are. But no, we simply don't want to take the time to do so and instead judge from outside and assume that these are simply primitive and savage people, when in reality they are by far superior to us. Only because they do not accept our concept of a modern society doesn't make them criminals or terrorists. They have their god given rights to exist and defend themselves from any alien intrusion in their long lasting Countries and Cultures. Those who try to deny them the right to exist, are also the usual rude and rough bullies they have always been, and like pirates of bygone times go roaming around the world wanting to steal the belongings of legitimate entities and people. This has to stop. We need more open minded, better educated and well traveled politicians who have the necessary knowledge and wisdom to deal with such Countries, not as conquerors or colonizers, but like true honest partners who respect each other's differences and views but are still willing to share their common traits as human beings and move on from there. Bombs, missiles and bullets will never change anything, except maybe, leave a permanent trait of infamy next to the names of Countries who behave like this in history books. And history seldom forgets, and instead tends to point the finger into the wound such Nations have provoked and left behind. Unlike Americans, the Nations comprising Mesopotamia and the Far East have a very long memory of the scars left behind by their historic adversaries and although in their great wisdom are usually prone to forgive such atrocities, they never will forget them. Forgetfulness seems only a trait Europeans, Americans and in general all Western Countries seem to be affected by and this is where such Countries will always fail. Unless someone thoroughly studies and learns these cultures, including maybe their languages and dialects, there will never be a common ground in order to work together on a more civilized world. The Western hemisphere seems to have completely lost its own civilization and culture and almost seems jealous of other people's ones, and it is probably why, knowing its rapid decline, tries to hold on to old misguided traditions and concepts which didn't work in the past, nor will they ever function in the future.

The practice of Islam started in Abisynia now Ethiopia. When Muslims were banned to practice Islam in Mecca, prophet Muhammad sent some of his new followers to ETHIOPIA. People of Yemen never thought African Islam . Bilal was from Ethiopia, and the black woman who raised the prophet of Islam was from Ethiopia. By the way, Yemen was ppart of Ethiopia at the tome of Solomon and queen of Seebah. It was a black nation at that time before the later conquest by others. It is just to keep records straight. I visited Yemen in 2005 and Iam yearning to go back to see that incredible country again ...the people are poor but they share whatever they have to strangers .. they are a brave nation and visitors are always welcome and ensured of their safety . This country has a beauty that many countries aspire to have and when the Romans were there they called Yemen , " Arabica Felix" ( beautiful Arabia ). I remember a radio broadcast about Yemen many years ago about a historic friendship of the Yemenis towards Italy. I was pleasantly surprised. Since then, Italy has conformed to US culture, becoming more and more impoverished on all levels. After that broadcast and many opportunities to meet the Muslim world for work, Yemen has always been a place for me to visit. Since I saw on tiktok some boys on a boat stopping ships in the Red Sea, my enthusiasm for those people has literally exploded. I have heard that the Queen of Sheba was from Saaba--which is where she gets her name. It also means "seven" in Arabic: a very important number in Islam. But maybe Sanaa is close enough. My own geography is not perfect. And another point is that of the legend of King Solomon's Mines. Those fabulously rich mines are reputed to be somewhere in that place, where the Queen lived. They met and knew each other. But who knows what treasures are buried in the sands over there?

Belief is Yemeni and wisdom is Yemeni.” They were also honored in the Holy Koran in the following verse: “Allah will bring forth a people He loves and who love Him. They are humble with the believers, rough and proud over the blasphemers, and they perform Jihad for the sake of Allah, not fearing anyone’s blame in their pursuit.” No wonder we all want to be Yemenites. My respect to my brothers and sisters in Yemen. Do not let the Burqa worn by Yemeni women fool you. I haven’t heard or seen stronger women than Yemeni women.

You say Yemenis introduced Islam to India? Maybe partially true. But Islam was also introduced to the Indian sub-continent by Persians, or people from Iran. Amongst them were some of my own ancestors, like Mir Ali. He is reported to have entered India some 400 years ago to preach and teach Islam. Like so many others from that ancient part of the world, I can trace my own ancestry way, way back.

Does it ever occur to these foreign reporters that the cheerleading of the arab :resistance to Israel and the U.S. has ,so far , an unblemished record of leading their underdog favourites to near, if not absolute , extermination. Please do not add the Houthis to your league of disappearing heroes as you exclaim their humanity and their indomitable spirit. We have seen that the U.S. will spare no cost to eliminate any group that dares to stand in our way. I understand that it is important for people under attack to feel that they have a chance but military facts , like the ones that doomed Ukraine from the beginning of that war, still apply worldwide. Your reporting is still relevant in making the enemy human but increases the odds that these humans will suffer when you taunt the military prowess of advanced global powers. I realize it takes away your reportage style of giving the opposition a seat at the table that feels equal in worth and I have no clue as to how you might become more equanimical in your assessments but you might start by making a slight nod to the overwhelming military deficit that all these brave groups face.
